Antarctica in 3rd class

In Ms. O'Rourke's 3rd Class we enjoyed learning about the Antarctic and Antarctic Explorers, like Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean so much, we decided to make our own little piece of Antarctica.

We used paint, shoeboxes, foam and bubble wrap to create the background. Having researched about all of the different animals that live in the Antarctic, we drew our own versions of the animals, like penguins, whales and seals to stick into our dioramas.

We enjoyed the project so much and are so proud of the finished products.

Ms. Cummins’ 3rd class have been learning all about Antarctica!

We learned about the cold icy landscape and some of the animals who live there.

We used recycled materials like shoeboxes, cardboard, paper and building materials to construct Antarctica inside a shoebox! We really enjoyed it and are very proud of our hard work!

We even had some visitors from senior infants who came and helped us!
