Book Launch

We were invited to attend the book launch for ‘Melting Moments’ by Lindsay Martin.

It is a book that teaches children about Dementia. We learned that people with Dementia can lose their memories and forget to do important tasks in their lives. They sometimes need a lot of help and support.

We read the book and really enjoyed it. The story is about two penguins who have a lot of fun together. One of the penguins gets Dementia and so we learn all about it.

We met the author Lindsay and were excited to learn she is a past pupil of our school! We had lots of fun at the Book Launch and learned a lot. September is Dementia Awareness Month. Our school received copies of Melting Moments and the Irish version ‘Nóiméidí ag leá’. We will read these throughout the month of September.
