Third Class were lucky enough to get to visit the Ernest Shackleton Experience in The Abbey on Friday 8th of November.
Here are recounts of the day from the pupils of 3rd class.
Today, Friday the 8th of November, we went to an Ernest Shackleton Experience. First we got into groups and chose a leader. Then we picked the name of our group. We learned skills you need to know to become an Antarctic explorer like reading maps and using a compass. We got to feel reindeer skin and fur! Then we went into the freezer room, it was -30 degrees in the freezer room so it was as cold as the Antarctic. Before we went back to school, we took a picture together.

In the Shackleton Experience, I learned how to use a compass. I learned about maps and places. I went in the freezer that was -30 degrees. I got to feel reindeer fur and it was very soft. I enjoyed it. It was very fun!
