Olympian visits SMN

We were delighted to welcome past pupil Amy Larn back to our school today for a special visit that left everyone feeling inspired and full of pride. Amy, now a rising star in Irish sport, took time out of her busy schedule to speak with pupils about her journey from the school yard to the global stage.

Amy is a talented Irish rugby union and sevens player who proudly represented Ireland at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

During her visit, Amy spoke to pupils about the importance of hard work, resilience, and following your dreams. She shared stories about her training, the challenges she faced, and the excitement of competing at the Olympics.

The children were absolutely thrilled to meet such an inspirational figure. Classrooms buzzed with excitement, and after her talk, pupils lined up eagerly for autographs. For many, meeting a real Olympian—someone who once sat in the same classrooms as them—was an unforgettable moment.

Amy's visit was made even more special by the fact that her mother Michelle is a valued member of our school staff. It was a proud day not just for our pupils and teachers, but also for Amy’s mother, who beamed with pride as she watched her daughter speak to the next generation of students.

As a school community, we could not be prouder of Amy and all that she has accomplished. Her success is a shining example of what can be achieved with passion, dedication, and belief in yourself. It was an honour to welcome her back, and we know she has inspired many young minds to dream big and aim high.
