Science in Mrs. Bond's

Mrs. Bond's class carried out some science experiments in October.

We were exploring temperature and water. We got to see melting in action. We also noticed how warm water rises and cold water sinks.

In our first experiment we put some drops of food colouring into bottles of warm water, then placed these into a tub of cold water. The coloured water started to slowly emerge from the bottles and settled at the top of the tub.

We then explored how to extract a rose from inside an ice-cube. This allowed us to see melting in action. Some of us used warm water to melt the ice. Some of us chipped away at the ice. As the temperature of the water rose, the rose was revealed.
